Role Objectives:The Psychologist will develop training curricula, conduct training, supervise and support a team of counselors currently offering VCT, psycho-social care and basic mental health counseling. The candidate will also be expected to provide counseling to a small case-load of clients.Full confidentiality about the program and the clients visiting the services is mandatory.

DESCRIPTION OF CORE TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Training/supervision:Responsible for development and provision of education and training to the counsellors team to update their current knowledge of psycho-social care, counselling and mental health care with theory and protocols of MSF guidelines.

Responsible for coaching and support (clinical supervision and debriefing) of the counsellor’s team on a regular and scheduled basis.

Responsible for assisting counsellors in fulfilling their job descriptions and provision of high quality of care by reviewing documentation and counselling sessions.

Required to develop culturally adapted training curricula and to deliver trainings to different target groups including MSF medical and paramedical staff and external community groups (PLHWAs)Planning and Organization·

To plan, organize and carry out training/supervision activities in an independent and competent manner· To work closely with the rest of the medical team in translating the Counseling and Testing and the mental Health/psycho-social policies of MSF-OCA into practical programs.

To assess the needs and resources for psychosocial care and mental health services and to link our intervention with other service providers within the district.· Explore further training and support possibilities outside of the project.

To serve as a resource person for psychosocial care and mental health issues for the MSF OCA Manipur project .

To follow on recommendations made through the Community Survey directly related to Mental health issues in the community.

Clinical:To give treatment or case manage client/patients suffering from serious mental health problems.· To implement and support the referral system for those suffering from severe mental health problems (severely traumatized, psychiatric cases) in close cooperation with the Medical team and Medical coordinator.
To provide training and support for the care of survivor of Sexual Gender Based Violence as an integrated service with the medical team.
Establish a ’helping the helpers’ system for the provision of psychological support and prevention of burnout for the counseling and medical teams.
Other:Is responsible for actively seeking to refine and improve the professional counselling techniques of the counsellors team according to MSF guidelines and giving feedback to the expat supervisor·
Is responsible for staying updated on current research and developments in his/her field of work.· Is responsible for liaison with other NGOs to identify local resources for patient support with approval of team leader counsellors team and expat supervisor.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications- Graduate in the field of Clinical or Counselling PsychologyWork experience- At least 3 years of work experience including working with children and victims of trauma; at least 1 year of professional counseling experience, preferably with clinical supervision and training experience.Linguistic competence- Good knowledge of written and spoken English. Skills required- • Ability to work independently as well as part of a (multicultural) team;• Aware of and respecting patient confidentiality;• Good oral and written communication skills;• Knowledge of basic computer skills;• Ability to travel, live and work in isolated areas;• Attitude of volunteerism and a desire to be part of an international humanitarian organisation;• Ability to maintain a respectful and non-judgmental attitude to all people, irrespective of religion, background, values, beliefs or mental health status; and• Initiative, empathy and creativity.
